Opaline SA

Opaline is a business based in Orsières that provides direct employment for five people. It produces a range of fruit and vegetable juices based on freshly-squeezed fruit, its "fine Swiss fruit juices", placing particular emphasis on their naturalness and on Switzerland's agricultural tradition. In 2014, it won an ethical business award, the Prix Suisse de l’Ethique.

Areas of activity

It all began in the kitchen of an old barn in Perrey. Then, in 2011, Opaline invested in a small-scale fruit juice production line at Sembrancher. From 2013 onwards, the company grew rapidly and needed to increase its production capacity. It therefore transferred its production to the Pressoir du Rhône at Vétroz, which is where the production, bottling, packaging and storage of the fruit juices now take place.

The company is headed by Sofia de Meyer, with Ludovic Orts being responsible for production and research & development.
Opaline markets about ten different juices, making the formulations of its products as innovative as possible, and sells 50,000 bottles each month. Its aim is to triple its production in the next three years and to become a well-established name in the fresh fruit juice market in Switzerland.

Markets

Opaline emphasises the naturalness, local production and quality of its juices. It is able to rely on a rapidly-expanding distribution network, particularly among hotels, restaurants and cafés in Switzerland. The company also has a few outlets in other countries, including Belgium and the UK.
