AISA Automation Industrielle SA

AISA Automation Industrielle SA designs, develops and manufactures state-of-the-art machines for producing laminate and plastic tubes. These tubes are used to package everyday products such as toothpaste, cosmetics, food, pharmaceutical products and technical products such as glue.

Established over 50 years ago, in 1962, Aisa is a family-run business that belongs to the SIH Group. It employs 220 people, of whom 200 work at the company's main site at Vouvry.

This Valais-based company is the world leader in its sector: over 50% of laminate tubes (toothpaste, food) and some 40% of plastic tubes (mainly for cosmetics) are made on AISA machines. This very probably means that, as part of daily life, everyone uses a tube made on a machine designed at Vouvry – without even being aware of it.
 

Client base and markets

Aisa exports its products to more than 50 countries, on all five continents, and its machines are in use at almost 200 sites worldwide. Its client base embraces small companies as well as large ones, mostly from the world of industry, and includes the leading tube manufacturers, as well as famous names such as Colgate and Procter & Gamble.
 

Research and development

Research and development in the field of machines and new forms of packaging are central to the company's activities. It employs around 50 engineers, from every technical field (mechanical engineering, automation, microtechnology, materials and chemistry). AISA is keen to remain at the cutting edge of technology, and every year, it invests in modern manufacturing systems, such as laser fusion, in order to meet the requirements of both its clients and industrial production.

The Ark Foundation supports Aisa as part of a joint project to develop an intelligent tracking system for use with packaging machines.
