Euresearch Event: "Why don't you coordinate an EU project?"
Dear Researcher,
How many times have you heard scare stories about the red tape and the bureaucracy involved with FP7, especially when coordinating projects. At the same time, being able to lead and manage a European project gives you a really interesting opportunity to drive the research of a large part of the community. So for an institution, be it academic or private, coordination is quite rewarding in terms of reputation, provided that the people involved as coordinators have the competence to really manage a European project of course.
How do Swiss and European institutions promote this role of coordination? How do they encourage their staff to take the responsibility of leading European projects? What are the benefits for them to lead such projects? These are the questions at the heart of our
Euresearch event from May 7th 2009, 14.15-17.00, entitled: “Why don't you coordinate an EU project?”
Prof. Ralph Eichler, President ETHZ, Thomas Hinderling, CEO CSEM, Prof. Dr. Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann, Director MiraLab, University of Geneva and Prof. Dr. Burkhard Ludewig, Head of Research Department, Kantonsspital St. Gallen will share with participants their experience and strategies to develop the competences required for this demanding but very gratifying mission.
