SECU4

The company SECU4 was launched by students pursuing the “Business Experience” option at the HES-SO Valais. From the outset, the project was able to draw on developments and the knowledge of Bluetooth technology at the Industrial Systems Institute, part of the University of Applied Sciences HES-SO Valais.

The Ark’s Accelerator service enabled a demonstration model to be made of this technology. In 2007, thanks to the Grant Scheme, the project resulted in the formation of a company, SECU4 Sàrl, led by Ralph Rimet.

Once installed in TechnoArk’s premises at Sierre, and with support from the Incubator, SECU4 continued to develop, preparing for the industrial production and marketing of its first product, BlueWatchDog, an anti-theft system based on Bluetooth technology.

With financial support from the CCF and a venture capital company, SECU4 became a public limited company in 2008. In September 2008, BlueWatchDog was launched on the Swiss and French markets.

The company employed 4 people at the end of 2008 and it anticipates a turnover of around CHF 10 million in 2009.
